Digital telemetry is over 60 YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY that’s used when bearings or slip rings were not feasible. Powering the Wheatstone bridge is conducted through IPS coils, and the signal is brought-out through the same coils. These coils are usually very close to each other, and then BNC cabled to DAQ equipment. Sensors using these systems are accused of EMI (electromagnetic induction) to surrounding equipment. These sensors are also vulnerable to metal masses close by – hence prone to catastrophic data failure. And finally, Digital Telemetry is burdened with auxiliary equipment.
Our T4500 family of wireless sensors provide TOTAL freedom and do NOT require cabling, calipers, or auxiliary IPS boxes or circuitry. Moreover, they follow regulated ISM bands assigned for Industrial Scientific Medical applications. They follow wireless hardened protocols like the Bluetooth used in common equipment like cell phones. These sensors do not emit nor are affected by radiation emitted from other surrounding equipment, and allow signals to travel 100 – 1000’ wirelessly to DAQ equipment.
